"The prison authorities do so for their own safety I guess," said Jennifer Robinson's lawyer told AFP.
The lawyer said the Australian, 39, was transferred Thursday to the segregation unit of the prison in Wandsworth (south London) where the judge on Tuesday ordered preventive admission until 14 December after refusing release bail a few hours after they submit voluntarily to the police.
According to British newspaper The Guardian, some prisoners "Showed a high degree of interest in" Assange, prompting his transfer. Assange
Robinson added that "do not have any distractions, it is difficult to make phone calls alone."
Assange, whose Internet site specializing in leaks for 12 days revealed confidential documents of American diplomacy, has asked for a laptop to prepare for next Tuesday's hearing because, according to his lawyer, "it is difficult to write by hand." Robinson
Assange noted however that he was "very encouraged" but also "frustrated" at not being able to respond to allegations that WikiLeaks is behind cyber attacks against companies that try to silence or to cut off sources of finance.
"I said it's not for nothing was totally involved and that is a deliberate attempt to mix WikiLeaks, which is an organization that publishes on the Internet, hacking organizations," he said.
A cyber group called "Anonymous" in recent days launched attacks against hostile content and Assange WikiLeaks, as the credit card giants such as Visa or Mastercard.
